Note From The Principal
Ann Worden came to Shawnee in 2013 to be the principal at Shawnee Early Childhood Center. A daughter of a farmer and elementary principal, Ann graduated from Enid High school. She earned her undergraduate degree in elementary education from Oklahoma State University and Master’s degree from Georgia College and State University. She also earned Visual Handicap Certification from Florida State University and Administration Certification from the University of Oklahoma.
Ann has been married over 40 years to her college sweetheart. They have two daughters, a son-in-law, and two grandchildren. Their family has lived in Texas, Georgia, and Tennessee, as well as their home state of Oklahoma.
Ann has taught grades 1-4, and 8th. She has also been a library media specialist. In addition, Ann worked at the K20 Center training teachers throughout the state of Oklahoma as an Elementary Literacy Specialist. She has been awarded Teacher of the Year, Media Specialist of the Year, and was a finalist for the Media Specialist of the Year for the State of Georgia.
Ann loves leading an amazing staff who have our PK and K students at heart.
