Mallory Cheatwood: Teacher of the Year Candidate 2017-18
The next Teacher of the Year candidate is Mallory Cheatwood of Horace Mann Elementary!
Mallory began her education at Oklahoma State University and transferred to East Central University after getting married to finish her degree. She is also currently in the process of completing her Master's Degree in Counseling. She has been teaching for 5 years, all of which have been at Horace Mann teaching both 4th and 5th grade.
Mallory has been married to her husband Cole for 8 years and lives just outside of Wewoka. They have a son, Wylie, who is in Pre-K and they are expecting a daughter, Wrynn, who is due in early May. Outside of work she enjoys spending time relaxing at their lake house on Lake Texoma, attending OSU sporting events, reading, traveling, and watching her son play t-ball. Even though she is terribly afraid of heights, she wishes to one day go skydiving!
Mallory loves being a teacher because of the humorous and completely random things the kids tell her. She never knows what to expect and often times they teach her a thing or two! She loves Disney movies and often utilizes them in her reading/language lessons which tends to drive her students nuts!
Congratulations, Mallory, on being the Horace Mann Teacher of the Year for 2017-18 and thank you for going above and beyond for our students!
